The Life of the Rev. John W. de la Flechere by Joseph Benson, Daniel Hitt 1812, First American Edition, Full Leather

Biography of John Fletcher, the Swiss-born vicar of Madeley and Methodism's great early theologian, chosen by John Wesley as his successor, compiled from Wesley's narrative, Gilpin's notes, and Fletcher's own letters. Why it's special: the first American edition, printed in New York in 1812 and catalogued as an Early American Imprint (Shaw and Shoemaker 24810), with period provenance: an early owner's inscription and a pasted-in silk Temperance Badge label bearing Lincoln's words "with malice toward none and charity for all." Full leather binding.
