Large Gold-Tone Brass Compote with Pierced Grapevine Rim, 18 Inches

Large footed brass compote with a pierced grapevine and grape cluster rim, branch-form handles, and a fluted pedestal base. Measures approximately 18 inches handle to handle by 8 inches. Why it's special: the grapevine motif, a symbol of abundance and hospitality, is a classic of Rococo Revival and Hollywood Regency decor, and pierced brass compotes on this oversized scale are far less common than the smaller versions usually found. A striking centerpiece for fruit, florals, or display.
